Three days to go! Leggings!

Who wants leggings? Apparently my oldest daughter. I made some for Christmas for her little sister who refuses to wear anything except dresses. It's a little too cold for that habit. When I took these out for her to model for these pics, the girl wouldn't hold still for anything she just wanted to admire herself in the mirror from every possible angle. She really wants a pair. I'll give away a pair of kid size leggings to the winner of this giveaway. Tell me in the comments below what the best gift is that you are giving this year. The winner will also be my guinea pig, so don't expect these to be totally perfect.

Totally slacking! 4 days to go! Actually, 3 days, 5 hours, and 24 minutes.

Sick of templates yet? Me too! I forgot all about posting today and here I am again with something handy. Here's another 8.5x11 template. This 12 days of Christmas thing is harder than I thought it would be.Tomorrow, as requested by my daughter, I'm giving away a pair of leggings. I think she just wants another chance to wear her little sister's Christmas gift.

5 days to go! Another 8.5x11 template freebie

I'm rushing between church and weekly dinner at Grandmas, with cooking between, and just realized I forgot to make a post for today! Never fear! I have another template for you today. It occurred to me that not everyone knows how to use these.
A template is a photoshop file that has all the elements separate. You just plug your papers, photos, and embellishments in each spot. To do this, open the template in Photoshop, then open the paper that you want. Click on the element you are wanting to replace, selecting the layer, and drag your paper into that area. Hit ctrl+g and it will group your paper/photo/embellishment with the layer below it (this should be the layer you clicked on right before dragging your paper). To make this "permanent" select both layers in the layers palette (ctrl+left click) and hit ctrl+e and and it will merge the layers and turn them into one. I learned this by googling and watching youtube videos on how to use digital scrapbooking templates. Those tutorials are probably better than my little crash course, but there you go. If that is confusing, my apologies. I'm a little fried at the moment after a long day of singing countless Christmas songs with the kids at church.

The winner for day 12 is...

Now, let's see here...

This one, mama.

VERLYN!

6 days until Christmas

I have cookies on the brain. Maybe I haven't eaten enough yet. Actually, since this is a scheduled post, I probably have had my fill by now since our church Christmas party was last night (or Friday night. Whatever). So today I have a cookie recipe for you.

This is my most favoritest cookie recipe in the whole wide world. I love it because it only takes 3 ingredients, it's easy to memorize and it is so versatile.

Cake Mix Cookies
1 cake mix
1/2 cup veggie oil
2 eggs

Mix all together. Make small balls (I like to use a rounded tablespoon that I have or a small ice cream scoop). Bake at 350 for 9 minutes, or until you see cracks in the cookies. Makes 2 dozen.

Okay. Here is the fun part. You can do SO MUCH with this recipe. I have made oreos with a devils food mix and vanilla frosting. I have placed andes mints on each one right as they come out of the oven and let them melt for a grashopper cookie (this is hubby's favorite). I have used a yellow cake mix and put in chocolate chips and nuts. I have made strawberry oreos (they were WAY too sweet). My sister-in-law sticks hers in vanilla mousse and chocolate syrup and eats them with a spoon.  I have made this recipe, flattened it into the bottom of a pie pan, baked it, let it cool, and heaped chocolate chip mint ice cream in it for an ice cream pie. Iv'e broken pieces up for a trifle with whipped cream and berries. I've made them with peanut butter chips and with reeces pieces. If you have any other ideas, I would love to hear them! Maybe rolling the balls in crushed candy canes on right before baking?
