SheMarket Day One

SO MUCH FUN at SheMarket yesterday. There were a TON of people there. It was scheduled from 3-8, and will be again today, and as soon at 3pm hit, BAM! Ladies and their young ladies flooded in.

Lopsided Rosie had a fun time getting dressed up and taken out. I think she is tired of being banished to the laundry room. Don’t tell the cops, but she wasn’t buckled in. I know. There could have been stuffing guts and duct tape skin all over the side of the freeway, had we been in a crash. Not even poor little Lisa, the dolly strapped to her back with a mei tai (made with beautiful Amy Butler fabrics) would have been safe. 100_2530

The Shade sale was amazing. There were boxes and boxes of clothes. I couldn’t believe how much stuff there was.   Check out this preview for a general idea.

As a vendor I got first dibs, but being new to Shade, I had no clue what I wanted. I bought some capris on a whim and they fit so well. Too bad Shade is closing up shop for a while! You can still get some killer deals online right now, if there is not a sale like this near you.

I hope to see you at SheMarket today. Lots of fun stuff to see and shop for from Me, Shade, and the other vendors. I would tell you who all was there, but I didn’t get around to meet them all. Today, I’m going to say hello to my former geometry teacher who was selling some jewelry, and get the guts to talk to “the cool kids” (Why am I so intimidated about coming out from behind my computer monitor?)

The moral of this story is: SheMarket was fun. and rad. and…you should totally go. Today. At 3pm-8pm, 2908 rd 61 in Pasco. Step away from Mockingjay for an hour or so and come. You won’t regret it.

SheMarket and Shade Closeout : Tri-Cities!

image

If you are in the Tri-Cities area you DO NOT want to miss this event!!!  I am so excited to be participating! I know you are looking for another GNO before the kids go back to school, so there is going to be a Shade sale and bazaar…however this time its BIGGER…MUCH BIGGER than the last. In fact Shade is going to be sending a 24-ft U-haul packed to the brim with clothes.  These are all NEW seconds and irregular Shade clothing items that our hostess Jen can sell to us all at a super cheap price!!  Some are discontinued colors and styles including camis, tanks, layer tees, long-sleeved shirts, skirts and Maternity. Prices will be $3-$15.

Important: This could be the LAST shade sale we will be having here because sadly I read that Shade will not be offering a new fall line, and they will be selling off their entire inventory, closing their stores and going for a dark period.  This sounds to me like Shade is closing down for a while so this is it, the inventory that we are getting is about the last that the company will have and there will be no more.  So you might want to stock up!

Getting ready for the holiday shows

I have a show coming up this weekend at the Eagles Lodge and I'm way excited. This is my first established *craft* show. A tad nervous, but not much, and I'm going solo. Mama, my craft partner in crime, already had to work, so I will be hocking her inventory for the day. I'm still improving my booth. Today I made a tablecloth that I have had fabric for forever. I think it turned out well and my schtuff will look great on it. I don't know why it took me so long, it was really easy. The kids have been playing fort with it all morning.

CutieFruity's first craft show

My mom and I planned for weeks to get all geared up for our first show. I was so nervous and excited. I knew I'd be meeting some people from my Etsy team. The goal of the show for me was to learn the ropes, get my feet wet, and hopefully break even. I did all three! AND I got to spend time with my mom, which was great. A reporter from the local paper came to talk with the vendors about our experiences selling online. We are all pretty misquoted in the article, but hey, it's some sort of exposure for Etsy and for the team. I debuted a few new products at the show: bandana dresses, childrens baking aprons, baby legwarmers, eye spy bags, clutch balls, and bath aprons. All three sold much better than what I have in the shop.

Our table was crammed pretty full. I think we could easily fill a 10x10 tent, and we plan on doing just that this weekend at the Benton City Spring Opener.

On a side note: My husband was laid off a week before this show, so he stayed home with the older kids and I toted baby along. I left early in the morning, worked all day, and got home late. It was a conscious effort to love on my kids and be pleasant. I was so tired. When I got home, to my delight, he had washed and put away ALL of our laundry. I kept telling him it couldn't be done, and he totally proved me wrong. After trading jobs with him for a day, I get it. I get why he acts the way he does after a long day moving dirt. I get now that he is too tired to play with the kids or help with chores. It's hard to go from somewhere full of adults and then come home to a bunch of rowdy, ornery kids. I have tried more to treasure him and all he does for our family. I feel like a total loser now when I enjoy my days playing with the kids or wasting time chatting with my friends online. Trading places totally inspired me to make sure I really do my share in the family, and the house has been looking a lot better ever since.

Baby Leg Warmers

They're here! Well, they are here, in my house, not online yet, but here! I'm having issues with my computer and I won't be able to get pics up for a while :(. They will be debuting on March 27th at the Walla Walla Artisan Expo at the county fairgrounds. I'm going to be selling them for $7 and I hope they are a hit!
